BIOGRAPHY

Magalie M. Milfort, DNP, RN, CCM

Dr. Milfort has been a nurse for over 24 years and has a diverse clinical background with experience in acute care (medical-surgical, telemetry, step down & critical care), home health, palliative care & hospice, case management (utilization review & chronic disease management), nursingeducation and leadership.  

Dr. Milfort holds a BSN and an MSN (Adult Nurse Practitioner) from Western CT State University and a Doctorate in nursing practice degree with a focus in care of populations from Quinnipiac University. She held certification in pain management for 10 years and is currently certified in case management. She is a member of the International Honor
Society of Nursing (Sigma Theta Tau).  

Dr. Milfort has thought in the PN program at Lincoln Tech (Shelton, CT) and as an adjunct faculty in the BSN program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, she has taught in the NCLEX Review and Nursing Test Prep program at Kaplan. Dr. Milfort is not only an experienced educator, but she is also passionate about designing and implementing innovative learning experiences that are engaging to create a unique experience for students. Additionally, Dr. Milfort is focused on improving patient care by creating a strong culture of continuous quality improvement.

Besides her love and dedication to nursing education, Dr. Milfort’s has a passion for providing care in underserved communities, advocacy, addressing the social determinants and promoting health equity. .
